PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The Grand Chapter Community Relations Committee aids subordinate Chapters in publicizing events and acquainting the general public with activities, charities and purposes of the Order of the Eastern Star in Minnesota.  Members of the Committee are:

Each of the Committee members is assigned as contact person for Chapters in each District.  

Every Chapter in Minnesota is asked to designate a contact person for Community Relation for their Chapter.  This will enable the Grand Chapter to assure that  materials are delivered and that are able to contact that Chapter for information.  The Chapter Contacts Table lists all the Chapters in Minnesota with their official contact as well as the Grand Chapter Committee member assigned to assist them.  

Several publications have been provided to assist Chapters with their publicity needs.  First is a Community Relations Manual which gives detailed help in preparing press releases and tips on how to make you advertising interesting to your audience.  An appendix to the manual, is a listing of all News Papers in Minnesota and the contact person for each.

A brochure has been provided to offer a checklist of ideas and suggestions for advertising needs.  Its title is "I'm in charge of publicity -  What should I do?"
