What do we do?  ·  top

So, what does Lake Harriet Chapter do?
This year, we will have several dinners, each benefiting a charity or worthy cause. We’ll have a garage sale. We’ll throw in a few parties and nights out. We’ll cruise Lake Minnetonka with margaritas in our hands. We’ll volunteer at the cancer hospital, Masonic Home, and the patriotic unit, among others.

We support our Youth Groups, Job’s Daughters, Rainbow, and DeMolay, along with supporting many other organizations through time served and monetary donations.

  Eastern Star History  ·  top

The Order of the Eastern Star was formed about the year 1850 to provide an organization for the wives and female relations of Master Masons. This organization was unique in it’s time – in 1850, it was a stretch to imagine a woman being much other than a teacher professionally, yet here was an organization created for women to run. In fact, The Order of the Eastern Star was founded almost 70 years before the Girl Scouts of America.

The stated purposes of our organization are: Charitable, Educational, Fraternal and Scientific; but there is much more to it than that.
